Group Projects

Being in a group where you're the only one working

One of the most frustrating things is when you are working on a group project and you're the only one who's working. Here are some ways to solve this.

  • You could just do all the work
  • This is the easiest option even though it might not be the best one. You just keep on working hard and let the other people in your group do whatever they want. This is a good idea if you think it will do more harm than good. For example if you think they would purposely make it harder for you to do your work.

  • You could tell the teacher
  • This can either go well or horribly wrong. It can help with the teacher giving them a bad grade for not participating enough or they can talk to whoever is in your group and isn't doing work. It can go wrong if they get made at you for telling on them.

  • You can talk to them
  • This is probably the best option. You don't need to make a big deal just give them a simple job. If this doesn't work and they continue not doing any work, tell them upfront that you feel like they aren't doing enough work. They'll either listen or keep on doing nothing. If they keep on doing nothing then you should talk to the teacher.

Believe me I understand how frustrating it is but the most important thing is that you keep a level head and work according to your own morals, not anyone else's.
